Authentic and charming cooking experience

Can't Miss Experience! Nearing the end of our 2.5 week stay in Japan and this is by far the highlight of our trip. I cannot recommend it enough and we will definitely take another cooking class when we are back in Takayama.We learned so much about Japanese cooking by making tofu from scratch, dashi stock, Japanese omelettes, tempura, and more. Not only was it enjoyable, but we feel confident in replicating the process back home in America.

The highlight of our trip to Japan! The class takes place in the traditional house in Takayama old town. Whilst the other converted houses on the street are beautiful, it is a real privilege to step inside a place where the family live and have maintained all the original features - you can really feel the history and culture from the start which makes is so much more meaningful.
